Your road, reality, and Roots

Truth: reality, fact

Life: vitality, vigor, energy; the power required for well-being and healthy growth

My child,

Run to me as a delighted child who is completely confident in the love of your father. Approach me unabashedly, reveling in my unending devotion for you. My arms are open wide. Because of your trust in Christ, you have unfettered access, a clear path, to my throne room. He alone makes that possible.

The words of Christ recorded in this passage are my words, also. I am your reality, the only truth on which you can fully depend. I am your vitality - the power essential to your well-being and healthy growth. I am your road, your reality and your roots.

You can follow this path I have for you into what is real and good, nourished by all that I have to help you thrive. Well-planted, well-watered, well-fed, growing toward the light.

I will show you where to walk, guard you from deception, and empower you to make the journey. I will call to you daily, “This is the road I want you to walk. This is why you need to stay on it. Here is my power to enable you to do so.”

I want to make this journey with you. You will find imperishable joy in me, even in the most difficult parts of the path. I can make you sure-footed when the earth feels as though it may crumble beneath your feet.

My Abba,

Thank you for your devoted embrace this morning. Your unconditional acceptance draws me in.

You faithfully show me reality. But I still have the capacity to entertain delusion. I can choose poorly minutes after basking in your truth and beauty. My sin nature is persistent and convincing.

I thrive in the shadow of your wings. But our enemy never gives up.  No matter how perfectly convincing you are, I can still, somehow, wander off again into the mirage.

Please continue to draw me back onto the life-giving path you have for me. Keep nourishing me with reality. I need your constant truth about what is best for me.

And please, perpetually remind me that you are offering all the power required to thrive on this journey. I want to be caught up in your adventure, walking the path you have chosen for me, blinders cast aside, and well fed by your Spirit.
