“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?”

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31, 35, 38-39

My child,

I am for you, not against you. I want to remind you of some of the “wonderful things” with which I bless you as my child.

·      The gift of my Spirit as a foretaste of future glory

·      No condemnation

·      Glorious freedom from the power of sin, death and decay

·      Power to walk in my Spirit and please me

·      My Spirit pleading for you in harmony with my will

·      No obligation to obey your sinful nature

·      Affirmation that you are mine

·      Eager hope for your full rights as an adopted child and joint heir

·      Eternity in my presence

These just a few of my gifts spawned by my endless, flawless love for you. The most formidable obstacles in the universe will never keep us apart. When you accepted my invitation, I made my home in you. We are now inseparable. What I have joined together, nothing, no one, can divide.

When you take the wrong path, you feel estranged from me. But I will never leave you or forsake you. It’s like when your poor choices make you feel separated from a loved one who is sitting in the same room with you. Their presence does not make you feel close. You feel miles apart, even though you are still family.

That is how it is for us. Sometimes your misdeeds impede our intimacy, but we are inextricably connected. Lay that thing down. It will never satisfy you. I am right here. In my presence there is pleasure forever.

I love you,

Abba

My Abba,

All accusations, adversaries, rejection, and confrontation pales, in comparison to your advocacy. Thank you that distressing circumstances do not indicate a lapse in your love for me. Thank you that when life gets difficult, it isn’t because you forgot to pay attention. Thank you that when adversity comes, it does not mean you are averse to me.

Thank you that when I have trouble, it doesn’t mean I am in trouble with you. Thank you that when I feel rejected, I am still your honored child. Thank you that when all seems threatened, you are never concerned your plans will be thwarted in my life. Somehow you will accomplish all that you desire in, and through, me.

I know you live in me but sometimes I can feel distant from you. Experientially, I can feel detached. I do believe no power that exists can separate us. But at times, my sin can get in the way, creating static in our connection. Clearly, not a good choice for me.

I want to enjoy vibrant communion with you today. Please continually infuse me with a supernatural awareness of the joy that is mine through an intimate relationship with you. Each day, I want to increasingly savor and celebrate that reality.

I love you,

Mollie
