“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Light: an agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible

My child,

I stimulate sight and make things visible. My light does not discriminate between the good, the bad, the lovely and the unlovely. When I light up the home of your heart, I don’t only shine on the areas that are functional, orderly and well swept. I, also, shine on the broken plumbing, water stains and leaking roof.

My holy light reveals all things. That is why you need my supernatural mercy and grace. The rooms of your heart are works in progress needing my extreme makeover. Just when you get the repairs in one room “under control,” you notice the drastic need for a remodel in another.

You need a professional. I excel at renovation. On your own, you will wind up exhausted and discouraged. You need my power and skills to make true and lasting change. I reveal what needs my touch, so you can be transformed.

Follow me, and treasure my light, no matter what it uncovers. Give me those unsightly defects that became visible to you when we opened that wall. I knew about them already. Your broken bits cannot surprise me. And, I am perfectly equipped to take care of those places in the worst disrepair.

I am your Light and your Healer. I can make the wrong things right.

I love you,

Abba

My Abba,

Thank you for making your home in my heart. As you illuminate my heart, I will trust you to show me what’s in need of repair. I don’t want to wander around in the dark with my little flashlight trying to fix what is damaged.

Unless I am led by you, the Light of the World, I will chase shadows. Thank you that there is no darkness in you.

I like the idea of my heart as a home you are renovating.  I pray as I move through today, you would remind me who has the power tools and can do the heavy lifting. That would not be me. Please give me the supernatural ability to walk in humility deferring to the One with infinite knowledge, strength, and grace.

Please give me confidence in your blueprints. Sometimes I think I have a better plan. Forgive me. Show me what needs your attention today. Show me when you want me to pick up a hammer and participate. Show me when to be still and wait, as you work.

Make my heart tender and sensitive to your Spirit. I want to be encouraged by the progress you have made in me, even, when my view is obscured by the rubble that is part of any building project.

So I don’t lose heart along the way, please share your vision for my “before and after” as you build your beauty in me.

I love you,

Mollie
