“Come let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God.” Psalm 95:6
My child,
Come away with me. Step away from your chores. For a moment, lay down your responsibilities. Put aside the mind clutter. Leave those commitments over there, for just awhile.
Don’t try to juggle all the weighty stuff of this life, while you bow down before me. You are distracted by those things that fidget and squirm like needy children trying to capture your attention. Put them down. Think of our time each day as a short vacation.
When you go on vacation, the idea is to leave behind the things that take away from rest and relaxation. You put a lot of thought into how to get the most pleasure from your vacation. I want you to plan purposely for our time, and jealously guard it the way you would when delighting in a special holiday at the seashore.
I am always perfect rest. As you enjoy my presence, you find inexplicable joy. Is there any other time when your heart feels so peaceful and exhilarated all at the same time?
As you worship me, you put yourself in a position to receive all the amazing gifts I have for you. It is difficult to accept what I offer when your arms are full.
Come away with me. Just for a while. Sit and soak up my splendor. Breathe in my beauty.
I love you,
Abba
My Abba,
Thank you for this invitation to worship you. Thank you for asking me to enjoy a daily furlough in the most glorious place in all the universe – past, present, and future – the sanctuary of your presence.
When I bow before you, you bring my heart into delightful admiration. I enjoy who you are (and who I am through you) as I savor the endless, iridescent waters of your matchless grace. Wave after wave washing over me.
Sometimes I am overwhelmed and weep. Sometimes I smile. Sometimes I am challenged. Sometimes I simply rest. But when I get a glimpse of your beauty inviting my heart into your glorious respite, I am never left earthbound.
Transform me again with the magnificent light of your love.
My heart, mind and body will be renewed. And I will return without jet lag, missing luggage, or a sunburn. How can I lose?
I love you,
Mollie
